Now, this was the topic for exhortation when FOJ had our last prayer meeting for the semester. Okay, am not really sure of saying last meeting but its definitely the last one for me. It was led by our Sister mercy and the word really touched me. To start, She said when the topic was given to her, she stopped watching a movie on a laptop. She continually was asking what is that in your hand, and as a normal routine was holding my phone which i guess was waiting for her to say the books for reading, not forgetting that i was also checking my whatsapp notifications. But the question hit me again, there i answered within me that "am holding my phone". That was the main thing, how could i use my phone to impact this world. She talked about Moses, where He had a stick in his hands and God used that as the mechanism and the word to release the Israelite from oppression of pharaoh.She also gave the scenario of the woman Elijah visited who was also having many creditors and was threatened that her son would be sabotaged. there also, was the question What is that in your hand. With the help of a little floor she had and oil, it was multiplied and she was able to pay her creditors.
Not forgetting when Our Messiah came to this world He also requested what your had before helping, giving the scenario at the wedding night where He turned water into wine, feeding over 5000 men with 2 fishes and 5 loaves of bread and many more just to mention few. She made us understand that, you can't be empty before you are used, but must have something in your hands.
My lessons I learnt was that i must make sure i discover what is that in my hands and ask God to guide me in the usage. Other than that, you will be considered as that unfaithful servant whose one talent was taken and given to the one with five. and you will be sent into the darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth.
