Today, I happen to have my quiet time and read the book of Ecclesiastes where most bible scholars have debate on. I took my verse from the chapter 2: 12. The main theme was that wisdom and folly was meaningless, a chase after the wind. Mostly, we read the bible and forget to pray for understanding of the word read and we take it as it reads. The main reason for solomon or the preacher to have said this boils down to the earthly death we all will suffer. It explains that whether you are wise or a fool, we all will one-day die. But, death in this ordinary world means that you stop breathing and the body stops functioning. We are to note that God created man in his own image and likeness, and God has made me to understand that He is not a man to tell lies or to repent. Also God is limited by His words, so death here means our body which we had after sinning in the garden of Eden becomes dead. Now, its left with the fate of the likeness and image of Him which does not die but our deeds determines where it will spend its eternity. So the bible made me understand that death in Christ means you are asleep whereas spending eternity in the lake of fire if death itself. I know, you don't need me to explain what eternity is? But its more than you can imagine.
In the book of Hebrews, it made me understand that man is appointed to live once and after that judgement. Most scholars debate this point to where it was written in Ecclesiastes that if you die, you are forgotten. brethren in the Lord, Lets keep the fire burning as we fast approach the coming of the Lord Jesus and see to it that we are not deceived by any anti-Christ.
